Canterbury: Canterbury Castle

Canterbury Castle is just a ten minute walk from the world famous Canterbury Cathedral and mustn’t be missed off any visitors tour. It is one of three royal castles built in Norman times, shortly after the Battle of Hastings – the other two being Rochester Castle and Dover Castle. Near to the castle is Dane John Gardens where there is a huge mound you can walk to the top of and enjoy a superb view of the city.
