Imagine owning the world's oldest record shop - and then discovering that rising rent could bring more than a century of music history to an end.
That was the threat facing Spillers Records in Cardiff.
Founded in 1894 by Henry Spiller and Joe Gregory, Spillers began in Queen's Arcade selling the newest sound technology of its day: wax cylinders and shellac records. It later sold musical instruments too and eventually moved to larger premises on The Hayes.
By 2006, however, increasing rent put the independent shop under serious threat of closure.
Then something rather wonderful happened. Music fans rallied around it - and some extremely famous names joined them.
Support came from the Manic Street Preachers and Beyoncé. A petition to keep Spillers open attracted names including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Justin Timberlake.
Think about that for a moment: international music stars helping fight for a little independent record shop in Cardiff.
Spillers survived. In 2010 it moved into Morgan Arcade, where it continues trading today.
The shop has lived through wax cylinders, gramophones, vinyl, cassettes, CDs, downloads and streaming - and somehow it is still there selling music.
Now THAT is a record worth keeping.
